InventoryOS was born from real-world frustration managing hundreds of devices without a single reliable tool. We're building the platform we always wished existed.
Every great product starts with a problem that won't go away.
It started inside a managed service provider, deep in the day-to-day of keeping hundreds of client devices running. As a Network Security Engineer, the job meant constantly jumping between tools, spreadsheets, and vendor dashboards just to answer simple questions: How many devices does this client actually have? What software is installed? Is our billing even accurate?
Moving into a Cybersecurity & Compliance Manager role made the problem even more visible. Reconciling software licenses, proving compliance during audits, and tracking what was actually running on endpoints. None of the existing tools did it well. Most were designed for large enterprises with massive budgets, and the rest were painfully inaccurate.
After yet another billing reconciliation that took an entire week of manual cross-referencing between three different platforms, the realization hit: this tool doesn't exist because nobody who actually does this work has built it yet. The vendors building inventory tools had never sat in the chair of someone who needed accurate device counts to settle a vendor invoice.
InventoryOS was built from the ground up to solve that exact problem: a single platform that gives you an accurate, real-time inventory of every device and every piece of software, organized by organization, with compliance rules that actually work. No guesswork. No spreadsheets. No overcharging.
I spent years managing device fleets and software compliance across dozens of client environments. Every existing solution either gave us incomplete data, cost a fortune, or required an entire team just to maintain. I built InventoryOS because IT teams deserve a tool that’s as straightforward as the job is demanding. Accurate inventory, clear compliance, honest billing.
Founder & CEO
John has been immersed in technology since childhood, turning an early passion for computers into a career in cybersecurity and IT infrastructure. After earning a degree in Cybersecurity Management, he went straight into the field, joining a managed service provider as a Network Security Engineer. There, he spent his days securing networks and managing endpoints across a wide range of client environments.
His progression into a Cybersecurity & Compliance Manager role gave him a front-row seat to the operational side of IT: software reconciliations, audit preparation, vendor billing disputes, and the constant challenge of maintaining accurate records across a growing device fleet. It was this hands-on experience that revealed a gap in the market. No tool offered the combination of real-time device inventory, software-level visibility, and compliance automation that IT teams actually needed.
InventoryOS is the result of that insight: a platform designed by someone who lived the problem, built to give IT professionals the accuracy and simplicity they deserve.
Give every IT team, whether it’s one person or one hundred, a single source of truth for their devices, software, and compliance.
Inventory data is only useful if it's correct. Every feature we build starts with the question: does this make the data more accurate? We don't ship features that sacrifice data integrity for convenience.
We design for the person who actually manages the devices, not the person who signs the purchase order. If a feature doesn't save time for the IT admin doing the work, it doesn't ship.
Simple per-device pricing that you can calculate in your head. No hidden fees, no per-user charges stacked on top, no "contact us" walls hiding the real cost. You should know exactly what you'll pay before you sign up.
Built by someone with a cybersecurity background, security isn't an afterthought. API key rotation, tamper protection, MFA, and audit logging are all core to the platform, not paid add-ons.
As a solo founder, there's no bureaucracy between user feedback and a shipped fix. Feature requests from real users drive the roadmap, not a committee, not investor demands.
Windows, macOS, and Linux are all first-class citizens. Most IT environments aren't one-platform shops, and your inventory tool shouldn't force you to pick favorites.
Built from scratch. Growing every day.
Most inventory tools were built by enterprise software companies selling to procurement departments. They optimize for feature checklists and sales demos, not for the IT professional who needs to answer "how many devices is this client running?" at 4 PM on a Friday.
InventoryOS is different because it was built by someone who needed it. Every design decision, every API endpoint, every compliance rule workflow was shaped by years of hands-on experience in MSP and enterprise IT environments.
The result is a platform that's opinionated about the things that matter (data accuracy, software visibility, billing reconciliation) and stays out of your way for everything else.
Inaccurate device counts. Software inventory that misses half your apps. Pricing that requires a sales call. Dashboards designed for screenshots, not workflows.
Accurate device and software inventory from day one. Compliance rules that match how you actually work. Transparent pricing on the website. Built by the person who answers your support emails.
